CAKE BREAKS BRING IN £800 DURING MS WEEK
We raised a total of almost £200 from 3 Cake Breaks in Ayr, Kilwinning and Stevenston, whilst a further £600 was raised when Heather Ross of Largs held a gathering at her house.
Branch Chairman Donald McNeill said:" Cake breaks are a well established way of both raising funds and raising local Branch profile. As part of MS Week, we were delighted our volunteers organised these excellent events. Well Done to all concerned. A blether, cup of coffee and home made baking enjoyed by all."
THE 2 LAURAS NEW YORK MARATHON SUCCESS
Mauchline girls, Laura James and Laura Robertson, have made a great success with their
fund-raising for the local branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The 2 Lauras took part in the event on
November 1st, with their efforts along the
way raising £13,700 for MS Ayrshire
and Arran - easily surpassing their
original target of £7,000.
Earlier sponsorship by Isobel Fraser of
Bodyshapers Gym in Mauchline and the
runners in the Glenbuck to Ayr run, plus
a quiz night at the Black Bull in Mauchline
contributed to the impressive total.
If you can help and wish to donate please

BRAVE JOHN TAKES A DIVE!
Brave John Murdoch of Ayr took a tandem Skydive with his qualified
instructor at Strathallan Airfield in Perthshire to raise funds for the
local Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
John who has MS, exited at 10,000 feet and reached speeds of 120 mph
in his freefall. John said:“Multiple Sclerosis or not, I have always wanted
to Skydive. The feeling of exhilaration and the adrenalin rush was
tremendous. I have taken great satisfaction in achieving this personal
goal and am looking for new challenges”
John was diagnosed with MS in December 2004, age 30. He is now 35.
His bold effort raised £700 from sponsorship which together with the
Government Gift Aid scheme means a boost for local Branch funds
of over £900.
BAG PACK RAISES A 'PHENOMENAL' SUM
As usual, our supporters on the Isle of Arran did
the branch proud when the annual Bag Pack at
Brodick Co-op was held in May, raising £723
The picture shows 'Our man on Arran' Boris Tiluka
with some of the helpers on the day.
Our thanks go to Brodick Co-op for allowing us to
hold the Bag Pack and to Boris for once again
organising the event.
Donald McNeill, Branch Chairman, said the
sum raised was 'phenomenal'.
